Girls Night Cheeseboard

There is nothing better than a deliciously fun night in with your friends, especially when there’s a girls night cheeseboard on the menu. This post was sponsored by Nabisco, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

I love a good girls night in. They are so precious as they come few and far between as responsibilities of adulthood increase. I try my best to ensure we enjoy every moment of good food, music, games, and of course, some binge TV watching. It is also just as important to make sure I am not running around everything and being overly fussy and extra.

Cheeseboards can easily get expensive and a little overwhelming, but this particular cheese board is so easy to throw together without sacrificing on deliciousness. Bonus: you can find everything you need at Walmart. Now, you can spend more time hanging out with your friends.

The Cheese

You don’t need to spend a ton on super fancy cheeses. You just need to get a nice variety of texture and flavor. I always recommend hard and soft cheeses, plus one with a nice unique flavor.

My friends aren’t fans of blue cheese, so for this girls’ night cheeseboard we used Vermont sharp cheddar, homemade roasted garlic and herb cream cheese, and a wonderful smoky gouda.

Other cheeses you may want to consider include brie, goat cheese, or replacing the cream cheese with mascarpone. My recommendation is to browse the cheese section and pick up at least one new-to-you cheese to try!

The Crackers

I love using a variety of crackers, all the better if they have slightly different textures and flavors.

This particular cheeseboard uses Triscuits (all their flavors are good), Wheat Thins, and GOOD THINS

Triscuits have a lovely texture which is really great for grabbing onto the spreads in particular. The ridges are also great for keeping fruits, herbs, and meat right where you want it.

The Wheat Thins have a subtly sweet flavor which I think is great with fruits, and spreads. It also adds a nice contrast to salty cheddar. It also helps knowing they are great for keeping those New Year resolutions just a little.

GOOD THINS are my favorite for quick bites where you really want the toppings to shine through. It goes from sweet to savory and everywhere in between with ease.

The Fruits

You can use whatever you have around. I like to go for fruits that pair well with a variety of cheese and meats. Berries, apples, pears, citrus, and grapes are my go-to. Mix and match whatever you can find at Walmart!

The Meats

Personally, I don’t add a ton of meats to my cheeseboards because of dietary restrictions, but I always have at least salami, prosciutto, or pepperoni included for my friends.

Meat adds a nice contrast to the cheese and rounds out the flavor profiles you create with the other ingredients. It can shape and change your crackers in the most wonderful way.

The Extras

This is where I go to personalize our girls’ night cheeseboard. For this one I added cinnamon honey butter, herbs, and granola.

I wanted the butter to have the option for an entirely sweet cracker. You can top any cracker (my preference is the Wheat Thins) with the butter and some fruit. If you want, a nice bit of cheddar would also be nice. I will often add granola to the top for added crunch.

Get creative! Grab anything that catches your eye at Walmart and that you think will go with your Triscuits. There are no wrong answers when it comes to creating a cheeseboard.

One of my favorite combos is a Caprese cracker from Chef Levi. Simply top your favorite cracker with sliced grape tomatoes, petite fresh mozzarella balls, sliced basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze.
